Experimental Evaluation of a Full-Scale HVAC System Working with Nanofluid

Nowadays, energy saving is considered a key issue worldwide, as it brings variety of benefits: reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the demand for imports lowering costs on household economy-wide level. Researchers building designers are looking to optimize efficiency by means new technologies. Changes can also be made in existing buildings reduce consumption air conditioning systems, even during operational conditions without dramatically modifying system layout have low an impact possible cost modification. These may include usage heat transfer fluids based nanofluids. In this work, extended experimental campaign (from February 2020 March 2021) has been carried out HVAC educational Campus University Salento, Lecce, Italy. The scope investigation was comparing COP two systems (one with nanofluid other one without) operating concurrently winter summer: simultaneous measurements show that coefficient performance (COP) increased average 9.8% 8.9% summer, daily peaks about 15%. Furthermore, comparison between same system, working different comparable periods nanofluids, shows mean increase equal 13%.
